Columbia, MD — The Board of Directors of HC DrugFree is announcing a leadership transition. After 17 years of dedicated service as Executive Director, Joan Webb Scornaienchi will transition from the Executive Director role in August 2026 and will continue supporting the organization as an Advisor to the Board and Leadership Team. During her tenure, Joan has helped strengthen the organization’s programs, expand community partnerships, increase fundraising capacity, and advance its mission. The Board is deeply grateful for her leadership and commitment to the organization and those it serves. “We are incredibly thankful for Joan’s vision, dedication, and leadership,” said Brian Morrison, Board Chair. “We are fortunate that she will remain involved as an advisor during this transition, helping ensure continuity while supporting our next Executive Director.”
The Board has initiated a search for the organization’s next Executive Director. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, nonprofit leadership with grant writing/fundraising experience, and a passion for advancing the organization’s mission and impact. The transition reflects the organization’s commitment to thoughtful succession planning and long-term sustainability. Programs, services, and partnerships will continue uninterrupted throughout the leadership transition.
