Have you ever made a snowman out of household items? Or painted a rock with a positive message to hide somewhere in the community? Perhaps you’re passionate about donating to your local animal shelter or to a food pantry. While some of these things may not seem like a big deal, when you embrace “random acts of kindness” as a way of life, it can make a huge impact. That what we asked of our Teen Advisory Council when we introduced KNOW Connection: a socially-distanced Scavenger Hunt.
It was a pleasure to see our TAC members take on this unusual challenge over several weeks, especially during a year a strange as 2020! We’ve put together a slideshow to give you a little taste of some of the things they were up to.
We’re so proud of our TAC Members for embracing this scavenger hunt, and the thought behind it. While we feel that everyone involved is a winner, we are pleased to announce that one of our participants earned the most points and has been chosen as the WINNER!
Congratulations to Mitch Z. for his participation and all of his creativity!
Each and every TAC member should be proud of their contribution. Thank you for helping Howard County KNOW Connection!
Are you looking for a meaningful AND fun way to earn your community service hours, all while making our community a better place to live? Then HC DrugFree’s Teen Advisory Council (TAC) may be the perfect place for you. The Teen Advisory Council is composed of Howard County high school students (public, private and home school) who meet monthly during the school year to discuss teen use of alcohol and other drugs, and to develop educational messages that promote HC DrugFree’s vision of a County where teens are drug-free by choice. Find out more information about becoming involved with the Teen Advisory Council.
