Volunteering at HC DrugFree’s drive-thru Take Back Event during a pandemic was a positive experience. Not only were the staff and other volunteers warm and welcoming, they took the proper precautions to ensure the environment was COVID safe. There were volunteers there doing many different tasks. Students and parents were holding signs and arrows pointing traffic towards the drop-off location. There were people with medical backgrounds sorting and depositing the medications and sharps. Things were well laid out and traffic flowed in and out of the area. The line of cars moved quickly and was continuous most of the day. Every volunteer I encountered was upbeat, positive and some were even dancing. What a great, necessary event for our community!
