National Fentanyl Awareness Day will be observed on April 29, 2025, with the intention of educating the public and calling for action, providing vital information and tools for keeping families, schools, and communities safe amidst the fentanyl crisis.
One major focus of National Fentanyl Awareness Day is the increase of fake prescription pills containing fentanyl being sold to unsuspecting consumers, and understanding the deadly risks of even a trace amount of illegally manufactured fentanyl. Data shows that 45% of teens were unaware that fentanyl is used in the creation of fake prescription pills, a number that will hopefully decrease as more educational resources are shared and discussed online and within families, schools and communities. Start the conversation with your teens today!
With education and action, National Fentanyl Awareness Day can play a large role in saving lives. The more awareness is spread about the deadly effects of unsafe medication use and counterfeit pills, the more fentanyl overdoses we are able to prevent.
